Xi Jinping Praises Fruitful Results of China-Russia Cooperation Ahead of Putin's Visit

Following US President Trump's visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for a state visit to China from the 19th to the 20th. Xinhua News Agency reported that the 10th China-Russia Expo opened today in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, with both Xi Jinping and Putin sending congratulatory letters. Xi Jinping stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic cooperative partnership and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the 'Sino-Russian Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.' He said that through joint efforts, cooperation in all areas has continued to deepen and has achieved fruitful results. Xi expressed hope that all sectors from both countries will use this expo as an opportunity to leverage their proximity and complementary advantages, deepen all-round pragmatic cooperation, better promote the economic and social development of both countries, continuously enhance the well-being of their peoples, and make new contributions to the stable and long-term development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era. In his congratulatory letter, Putin stated that the Russia-China Expo has grown into the largest exhibition event between the two countries, providing a platform for direct and in-depth dialogue. He noted that this year's expo focuses on key areas of bilateral cooperation and exchanges on a wide range of issues, expressing confidence that it will achieve positive results and plan for new prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of both peoples. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 16th that Putin will pay a state visit to China from the 19th to the 20th.
