K-Pop Star Kim Sung-kyu Misplaces Mic in Taipei Concert, Calls it "The Worst Moment"

(Taipei, 17th, CNA Reporter Hung Su-tsin) Kim Sung-kyu, the leader of the K-pop group INFINITE, held a concert at the NTU Sports Center on the 16th, performing over 23 songs. Unexpectedly, he couldn't find his microphone mid-performance. He joked, "I almost couldn't sing because I had no microphone. This might be the worst moment of this tour."

Through a press release, Kim Sung-kyu shared his feelings about the concert in Taiwan. He mentioned it had been over a year since his last solo concert in Taipei. He opened the show playing guitar for "Over It" and greeted the audience in Chinese, saying, "Hello everyone, I am Kim Sung-kyu." He explained that the tour's name, "Leap to Vector," symbolizes moving in a new direction and that he feels happy to be on tour with a new album.

During the concert, while moved by the sight of the audience waving support flags, Kim Sung-kyu suddenly realized his microphone was missing. He returned to the center of the stage but found the mic was not in its place, saying with a wry smile, "I almost couldn't sing because I had no microphone. This might be the worst moment of this tour."

Finally, Kim Sung-kyu revealed emotionally that he had brought his family to Taiwan for the trip. "This is the first time since my debut that I've brought my family on a work trip. I brought my mom and aunt with me. We ate a lot of delicious food yesterday and walked around," he said, also revealing that he will be performing in Kaohsiung on June 20th.
