Junior High School Comprehensive Assessment Program Concludes; Score Reports to be Sent on June 5th

The results are scheduled to be available for query on June 5th and will serve as the basis for admission-by-placement in various school districts. The purpose of the CAP is to assess the learning outcomes of three years of junior high school. The test's difficulty is set to 'moderately difficult,' and scoring uses a 'criterion-referenced' three-level system, where subject scores are divided into 'Advanced,' 'Basic,' and 'Needs Improvement' to evaluate whether students have met specific standards, rather than comparing them with others. On the second day of testing today, the subjects were Science, English Reading, and English Listening, all concluding by 12:30 PM. Students could finally breathe a sigh of relief as they left the examination halls. However, for the vast majority of junior high graduates, the battle for high school and vocational school admission is not over. The organizing body, the Taiwan Normal University's Psychological and Educational Testing Research and Development Center (RC-PET), is expected to announce the question-to-level conversion table on June 2nd. The online score query is set for June 5th, and score appeals can be filed from June 7th to 8th. Following this is the 'admission-by-placement' process for the 15 school districts nationwide. This is the largest admission channel for high schools and vocational schools, but the calculation method varies by district. For example, the Keelung-Taipei-New Taipei City district, which has the largest number of students, uses a 108-point scheme, with CAP scores, diversified learning performance, and choice preference each accounting for 36 points. The period for filling out school choices in the Keelung-Taipei-New Taipei City district is from June 18th to 25th, with placement results announced on July 7th. Admitted students must report to their respective schools on July 9th.
