Zelenskyy Warns Moscow is Assessing Attack on NATO Country from Belarus

Kyiv, 15th (Comprehensive Foreign Report) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated today that Russia is assessing an attack on northern Ukraine or a NATO country from Belarusian territory, attempting to further involve Belarus in the Russia-Ukraine war. According to Reuters, after a meeting with military and intelligence officials, Zelenskyy posted on Telegram, 'We continue to record Russia's attempts to more deeply involve Belarus in the war against Ukraine.' He said Ukraine has learned that Russia has had further contact with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, intending to persuade him to join 'a new Russian act of aggression.' Zelenskyy stated, 'Russia is considering plans for military action from both the northern and southern parts of Belarusian territory, either attacking in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction in Ukraine, or directly attacking a NATO country from Belarusian territory,' but he did not provide further details. Belarus borders Ukraine to the south, and NATO members Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia to the north and west. Moscow and Belarus have not immediately responded to Zelenskyy's claims.
