Tesla Self-Crashes into Furniture Store in Sanchong, New Taipei; Driver Suffers Minor Injuries, Sent to Hospital

(Central News Agency, New Taipei, Reporter Tsao Ya-yen, 14th) This evening in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, on Section 2 of New Taipei Boulevard, a Tesla driver, suspected to be suffering from mental fatigue, veered right in a daze and crashed into a furniture store ahead. Fortunately, no one inside the store was affected. The driver, who was not under the influence of alcohol, sustained minor facial injuries and was sent to the hospital. The cause of the accident is pending further investigation.

The Sanchong Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department received a report around 5 PM today that an electric car had self-crashed into a furniture store at the intersection of Section 2 of New Taipei Boulevard and Zhongxing North Street in Sanchong District. The front of the car was severely damaged, and the store's glass was shattered, but fortunately, no store employees or pedestrians were affected.

Police arrived at the scene and learned that a 46-year-old man surnamed Hsu was driving a Tesla towards Xinzhuang when he allegedly veered right due to mental fatigue and crashed into the furniture store ahead. The airbags deployed during the process, causing minor abrasions and contusions to Mr. Hsu's nose and face, for which he was sent to the hospital.
