(Central News Agency reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, 13th) Following reports of multiple individuals experiencing discomfort such as diarrhea after dining at a ramen shop in Taichung City's West District, the Taichung City Food and Drug Safety Office today announced that it has initiated a food poisoning investigation, dispatching personnel to inspect and collect samples from the food preparation premises.

The Food and Drug Safety Office received notifications from multiple citizens who, after dining at this chain ramen shop on May 5th and 11th respectively, experienced discomfort such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. A food poisoning investigation has been initiated, and personnel have been dispatched to inspect and collect samples from the food preparation premises.

The Food and Drug Safety Office pointed out that relevant samples have been sent for testing, and the test results are expected in approximately two weeks. Subsequent comprehensive judgments will be made based on the investigation results. If a violation of the "Food Safety and Sanitation Management Act" is confirmed, penalties will be imposed according to law, and in severe cases, the matter will be transferred to judicial authorities for investigation.
