(Oakland, May 11, Central News Agency comprehensive foreign report) US digital news website The Information today cited informed sources as reporting that artificial intelligence giant OpenAI and its largest shareholder Microsoft have agreed to cap their revenue sharing at $38 billion (approximately NT$1.2 trillion).

Reuters pointed out that the two parties renegotiated contract details last month, also creating space for OpenAI to establish new cooperative relationships with companies such as Amazon and Google.

According to the report, this payment cap may help OpenAI present a more attractive long-term outlook to investors as it seeks an initial public offering (IPO). OpenAI executives revealed that the company might launch an IPO as early as the end of this year.

Reuters could not immediately verify the relevant reports. Due to current non-business hours, OpenAI and Microsoft did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Microsoft stated in April this year that its revenue sharing with OpenAI would continue until 2030, with payments made according to the original agreed proportion, but with a cap.

Since 2019, Microsoft has cumulatively invested $13 billion, paving the way for OpenAI to become a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and driving the growth of its cloud computing business, Azure. (Compiler: Liu Wenyu) 1150512
