TAIPEI, May 12 (CNA reporter Tseng Jen-kai) – Heat spreader giant Kenmec today announced its first-quarter financial report. Revenue reached NT$5.305 billion, an annual increase of 11.6% and a quarterly increase of 0.6%. Net profit attributable to the parent company was NT$1.398 billion, an annual increase of 1.4% and a quarterly decrease of 2.8%. Earnings per share (EPS) for the single quarter were NT$9.53, the third highest in history.
The market believes that Kenmec benefited from NVIDIA's aggressive adoption of the new 'micro-channel cold plate' (MLCP) technology, leading to a significant surge in its stock price this year, peaking at NT$5685 in late April. However, recent rumors suggest a major change in the heat spreader design for NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin platform, reverting from a dual-plate design to a single-plate design, which would significantly reduce product unit prices. Kenmec is directly affected, and its stock price has recently plummeted, falling below the NT$4000 mark. (Editor: Pan Yi-ching) 1150512
