(Central News Agency reporter Hao Hsueh-ching, Taichung, 12th) With the increasing demand among in-service personnel for advanced skills in AI, carbon management, and smart manufacturing, the Workforce Development Agency, Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch of the Ministry of Labor, announced today that it will launch 87 advanced training programs, offering over 2,000 training opportunities to enhance workplace competitiveness.
The Workforce Development Agency, Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch, explained that with the development of new industrial trends such as artificial intelligence and net-zero transformation, the demand for in-service workers to acquire skills in AI, carbon management, and smart manufacturing has significantly increased. The Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch actively promotes the “Industrial Talent Investment Program,” which trained nearly 25,000 participants last year. This year, it is collaborating with 24 training units to launch 87 policy-oriented courses, providing over 2,000 training opportunities.
The Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch stated that these 87 policy-oriented courses focus on key industrial skills such as artificial intelligence, green energy, computer information, industrial manufacturing, precision machinery, management, and refined agriculture, responding to the demand for talent capabilities due to industrial transformation.
Following the trend of industrial upgrading, the Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch pointed out that course design is also gradually developing towards cross-disciplinary integration. For example, AI technology is being introduced to optimize manufacturing processes, or carbon management is being applied to factory improvements, indicating a growing demand from enterprises for talent with diverse integrated capabilities.
Taking Mr. Xiao, who works at a large rubber industry factory, as an example, the Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch noted that facing the pressure of industrial transformation, he proactively registered through the “TaiwanJobs” website for the “Carbon Inventory Internal Auditor Training Program” and the “Carbon Inventory and Carbon Trading Practical Program” to build carbon management capabilities and attempt to integrate them into factory process improvements, thereby helping his company prepare for sustainable transformation.
The Central-Southern-Eastern Taiwan Branch emphasized that the “Industrial Talent Investment Program” provides diverse advanced learning opportunities for in-service workers. All in-service workers aged 15 or above who are covered by labor insurance, employment insurance, occupational disaster insurance, or farmer's insurance are eligible to register. Qualified participants can receive a training fee subsidy of up to 80% to 100%, with a cumulative maximum subsidy of NT$100,000 per person every three years. Starting today, the public can visit the “TaiwanJobs In-service Training Network” to search for courses and register. (Editor: Li Hengan) 1150512
