(Central News Agency, Amsterdam, 8th, comprehensive foreign reports) Two new suspected cases of Hantavirus cluster were added today, involving a male passenger who had previously been on the ship and a female who was briefly on the same flight as an infected individual. WHO officials reiterated that due to the difficulty of Hantavirus transmission, the risk to the public remains relatively low.

The "MV Hondius" cruise ship of Oceanwide Expeditions, a Dutch company, experienced a Hantavirus cluster outbreak. According to the latest data released by the World Health Organization (WHO) today, there are currently 6 confirmed cases, with 3 deaths, and 2 suspected cases.

Reuters reported that the two newly added suspected cases were reported by local health officials and were not included in WHO's latest epidemic statistics released today.

Spanish health authorities stated that a 32-year-old woman living in Alicante province in southeastern Spain showed "mild respiratory symptoms" suspected of Hantavirus infection and has gone to the hospital for viral testing.

Spanish Secretary of State for Health Javier Padilla told reporters that the woman was sitting two rows behind an infected Dutch woman on a flight on April 25. The Dutch woman had disembarked early due to discomfort before the flight took off and recently died in the hospital.

Another suspected case is a British man living on Tristan da Cunha Island, who was also a passenger on the MV Hondius. The MV Hondius had docked there from April 13 to 15.

The UK Health Security Agency did not further disclose the individual's condition but also highlighted that with modern transportation convenience, the spread of infectious diseases is no longer limited by geographical distance.

Tristan da Cunha Island has about 200 residents and is located between South Africa and South America. It is the most remote inhabited island in the world, about 2400 kilometers from the nearest St Helena Island, requiring a 6-day boat trip to reach.

The reporting of new cases outside the cruise ship has raised concerns about a potential further spread of the epidemic. However, WHO officials have repeatedly reiterated that due to the difficulty of Hantavirus transmission, the risk posed by this outbreak to the public is not high.
