Han Kuo-yu to Lead Cross-Party Legislators on Visit to UK, France to Promote Parliamentary Diplomacy

Central News Agency (Reporter Chen Chun-hua, Taipei, 8th) – Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu will lead a delegation to France and the United Kingdom from tomorrow until the 17th to promote parliamentary diplomacy. Before departure, he will give a brief speech at the airport and is expected to attend the General Assembly of the European Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce. Democratic Progressive Party Legislator Lin Chu-yin, Kuomintang Legislator Chang Chia-chun, and Taiwan People's Party Legislator Chiu Hui-ju will accompany the visit.

After taking office as Legislative Yuan President, Han Kuo-yu made his first overseas visit in September last year, leading a cross-party delegation from the Legislative Yuan's 'Taiwan-Japan Exchange Association' to Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, for parliamentary diplomacy. During that trip, they visited the 'Japan-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Association' in the Japanese Parliament and inspected the '2025 Osaka World Expo.'

According to an informed official from the Legislative Yuan, Han Kuo-yu is expected to depart on the evening of the 9th. After a brief speech at Taoyuan Airport at 10 PM, he will lead the delegation on a flight to Paris to attend the European Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce annual meeting. On the evening of the 15th, they will attend the welcome dinner for the European Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce annual meeting in London, and on the morning of the 16th, they will attend the 32nd General Assembly of the European Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce.

The delegation members were selected proportionally based on the political parties' representation in the Legislative Yuan. It is understood that the Democratic Progressive Party caucus will be represented by Legislator Lin Chu-yin, who is also the head of the Taiwan-France Parliamentary Friendship Association, as well as Legislators Chiu Yi-ying, Lee Po-yi, and Wang Yi-chuan. Kuomintang Legislators Chang Chia-chun, Yang Chiung-ying, Lu Ming-che, Luo Ting-wei, and Taiwan People's Party Legislator Chiu Hui-ju will also join the delegation.
