(Central News Agency reporter Hong Xueguang, Lin Qiaolian Kaohsiung 8th) At around 11 PM last night, at ASE Semiconductor's K7 plant in Nanzi, Kaohsiung, a small amount of developer leaked, causing an unusual odor. 12 people reported dizziness and nausea but remained conscious; the plant was immediately evacuated, and the injured were sent to the hospital. The exact cause of the leak is awaiting clarification.

ASE issued a statement in a media group explaining that during routine equipment maintenance at the plant last night, a small amount of developer was found to have leaked slightly, causing an odor to spread. To ensure the safety and health of personnel, the on-site supervisor immediately activated emergency response mechanisms, proactively arranged ambulances, and accompanied relevant personnel for "preventive" examinations. Medical staff confirmed that all personnel's physical conditions were normal.

ASE emphasized that the company will subsequently implement workplace safety according to the highest safety standards and conduct a comprehensive review of relevant operating procedures.

The leaked gases last night included flammable and irritating substances. The city's Labor Affairs Bureau and Economic Development Bureau will jointly inspect to confirm whether the disaster was caused by improper operation.
