Aierli Clinic Suspected of Hiding Pinhole Camera; Group Apologizes and Announces Refund Process

(CNA Reporter Tseng Yi-ning, Taipei 7th) Aierli Clinic's Banqiao branch in New Taipei was suspected of having a pinhole camera hidden in a smoke detector. The Aierli Group today expressed its deepest apologies to all consumers, members, and the public via Facebook and announced its refund process.

New Taipei prosecutors and police yesterday brought in 8 people, including President Chang Ru-shan, for questioning. Early this morning, Chang Ru-shan, his assistant Zhang, and a vendor Xie were detained and banned from communicating with others, suspected of illegally filming sexual images.

Separately, the Kaohsiung City Health Bureau also discovered traces of removed surveillance cameras in two of its branches, and a surveillance camera inside a treatment room at another branch.

The Aierli Group stated that the case has officially entered judicial investigation. They have actively cooperated with relevant judicial and supervisory authorities in their investigations and clarifications, and have provided relevant information as required by law. Based on respect for judicial procedures and to avoid affecting subsequent investigations, they are currently not convenient to make further external explanations regarding the case details. They will handle the matter in accordance with the investigation results.

Regarding consumer refund and related rights issues, the Aierli Group stated that they will handle it with the utmost sincerity and provide assistance and explanations through a dedicated contact window, hoping to respond to social and consumer expectations with a responsible attitude.

The Aierli Group also announced the refund application process. First, reservation registration is required through online customer service or a branch. Due to the large number of applicants, arrangements will be made and applications processed as soon as possible after registration is completed.

Second, as it involves verification of amounts and personal information, applicants must personally visit the original purchase branch with relevant supporting documents. Online refund service is not available.

Third, on-site staff will assist in verifying the usage status of courses and the refundable amount to ensure clear and transparent procedures.

Fourth, refunds are limited to unused course content, and no gift amounts will be deducted. No handling fees will be charged throughout the process, responding to customer trust and support with actual actions.
