Taoyuan City Councilor Huang Chiung-hui of the Democratic Progressive Party stated today that citizens have reported their intention to form a self-help group to reclaim their rights through a class-action lawsuit. Some netizens pointed out on social media that when they went to Aierli Medical Aesthetics Clinic's Banqiao branch for body sculpting, they found an unknown device in the corner of the ceiling that looked like a hidden camera while changing clothes in the treatment room. Clinic staff insisted it was a smoke detector. After the woman reported it to the police, officers arrived and confirmed that there was a camera inside the device after dismantling it. The case is now being investigated for obstruction of privacy.

Huang Chiung-hui told a Central News Agency reporter that many citizens have recently contacted her, expressing their desire to form a self-help group to reclaim their rights through a class-action lawsuit. Liran Global Law Firm is currently assisting them by organizing victim information, collecting conversations, payment, and treatment records, as well as assisting with criminal complaints and subsequent claims. She believes that the more victims come forward, the more it will help prosecutors and police expand their investigation and preserve evidence.

Huang Chiung-hui pointed out that Aierli also has two branches in Taoyuan. Yesterday, the Health Bureau only conducted a preliminary clarification of the case, and prosecutors and police have not yet intervened to launch an inspection. Even if an inspection is launched now, it is already several beats too late, and the storm has continued to expand. Today, her service office received multiple complaints stating that there are great doubts and distrust regarding this medical aesthetics clinic, and the calls for refunds are growing louder. She urged the operator to address the public's concerns, and also called on consumer protection officers to intervene and assist with refund procedures.

The Taoyuan City Government Health Bureau stated that Aierli has two branches in Taoyuan City, Taoyuan and Zhongli. Yesterday, personnel were dispatched to the scene for inspection. Inspectors opened some smoke detectors and did not find any illegal photographic equipment. The clinic explained that cameras are only installed in corridors and some consultation rooms and beauty rooms, and the image content can only be viewed by the director and management personnel, and no pinhole cameras are installed to secretly photograph citizens.
