(Central News Agency reporter Hong Hsueh-kuang, Kaohsiung, 5th) Kaohsiung police recently questioned a suspicious man, who then fled on the spot, even losing his slippers. Officers, using their familiarity with the terrain, ambushed and apprehended the man. He was found to be a wanted money laundering suspect, and methamphetamine was also seized. He was sent for prosecution on drug-related charges.

The Fengshan Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Department stated today that officers found a man acting suspiciously on Chengqun Street in Fengshan District and approached him for questioning. The man immediately turned and fled, even losing his slippers during the chase, forcing him to run barefoot on the asphalt road under the scorching sun, dodging and attempting to climb walls to escape pursuit.

Utilizing their familiarity with the local terrain, officers quickly assessed possible escape routes and simultaneously notified online patrol units to intercept and apprehend him. The breathless and exhausted man, identified as Lin, was finally subdued at an intersection. He was found to be a fugitive wanted by the Taiwan Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office for violating the Money Laundering Control Act.

Lin told the police he wanted to return home to change shoes and get his identification. When officers accompanied him into the house, they discovered methamphetamine on the table. Lin admitted to possessing and using the drugs.
