The Joint Commission of Technological and Vocational College Admissions today issued a press release stating that the Technology Star Program provides diverse pathways for vocational graduates to pursue higher education. Recommended candidates must be graduating students from professional clusters of vocational (comprehensive) high schools, with academic performance within the top 30% of their department (group) or program, and must have continuously attended the same school. They must also pass the school's internal selection process to be recommended for participation.

For the 2026 academic year's Technology University Star Program Joint Recommendation and Selection Admission, 47 technology universities and 2 universities participated in the admissions, offering 2,414 admission slots, a slight decrease from the 2,473 slots in the 2025 academic year. 3,242 people applied, and a total of 3,093 completed the selection and submission of their preferred choices. Ultimately, 1,938 were admitted, with an admission rate of 59.8%, a slight decrease from the 60.2% in the 2025 academic year.

According to statistics from the 2026 academic year's Technology University Star Program Joint Recommendation and Selection Committee, the proportion of vocational (comprehensive) high schools with at least one student admitted to a national technology university reached 98.1%. The proportion of students admitted to their top 5 choices reached over 74.6%. Based on the Ministry of Education's approved list of remote area high schools, 20 vocational high schools in remote areas participated in the Technology Star Program, with an admission rate of 60% for recommended candidates.

Ren Yi-chun, Director of the Joint Commission of Technological and Vocational College Admissions, reminded that admitted students, regardless of whether they waive their admission, are generally not allowed to participate in the 2026 academic year's four-year two-year college selection admission. If they wish to participate in the 2026 academic year's four-year two-year college skilled talent selection admission or the daytime joint registration and distribution admission, they must fax a 'Statement of Waiver of Admission Qualification' to the admitted school by 12:00 PM on May 12th, and confirm by phone that the admitted school has received the fax to complete the waiver process.
