(Central News Agency reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, May 5) To encourage public and private buildings to activate idle spaces and integrate solar photovoltaic facilities with smart building design, the Kaohsiung City Government is promoting the "Photovoltaic Smart Building Label Certification." Applications are now open until July 15, with a total incentive amount of NT$400,000.
The Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau announced today in a press release that as net-zero emissions become an important trend domestically and internationally, Kaohsiung City has continued to utilize its abundant sunshine conditions in recent years to promote the installation and diverse applications of solar photovoltaics, encouraging the integration of solar photovoltaic facilities into building structural design, moving towards a sustainable and energy-transitioning city.
The Public Works Bureau cited the Dashu District Administrative Center in Kaohsiung City as a representative case. This project utilized idle rooftop space to install solar photovoltaic facilities, generating approximately 883,519 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, equivalent to supplying the electricity needs of about 243 households, and also creating a stable source of green revenue.
The Public Works Bureau emphasized that applications for this year's "Photovoltaic Smart Building Label Certification" are now open until July 15, with a total incentive amount of NT$400,000. The photovoltaic smart building labels are divided into three grades: Gold, Silver, and Bronze, according to their evaluation. Award-winning cases will receive incentive payments of NT$30,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000 respectively.
In addition, selected cases will be publicly recognized and announced on the Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau website for reference and learning by all sectors; relevant application information and operational details for the "Photovoltaic Smart Building Label Certification" can be found in the "Light of Kaohsiung, Livable City" special section on the Public Works Bureau's Architecture Management Office website.
