Paris, May 5 (CNA) French Finance Minister Roland Lescure stated that France will convene a G7 online meeting on May 7 to discuss how to break China's monopoly on critical minerals.

Reuters reported that Lescure told reporters that this online meeting with relevant ministers aims to prepare for the G7 Leaders' Summit to be held in Evian-les-Bains, France, in mid-June.

Lescure pointed out that China has gained a significant share in the market through massive investments and pricing policies, making it difficult for potential competitors to gain a foothold. (Compiled by Chen Cheng-chien) 1150505
