US-Iran War Key News

(CNA reporter Dubai, 4th, comprehensive foreign news) The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) today reported that a tanker was hit by an unknown projectile off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, and all crew members are safe.

According to an AFP report, the UK Maritime Trade Operations stated that the incident occurred 78 nautical miles north of Fujairah City, United Arab Emirates. Authorities have launched an investigation and urged vessels transiting this area to navigate with caution.

This incident occurred amid a stalemate in peace talks between the United States and Iran. The two countries have been in a ceasefire since April 8. Iran continues to control the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, while the United States counters with a naval blockade.

According to maritime intelligence firm AXSMarine, at the beginning of the US-Iran conflict, more than 1,100 merchant ships were stranded in the Persian Gulf region. As of April 29, more than 900 merchant ships were still stranded there. (Compiled by Chang Ming-hsuan) 1150504
