The vehicle then hit a motorcycle rider and passenger. The woman surnamed Huang and her son-in-law died after being sent to the hospital, resulting in 2 deaths and 3 injuries.
The Zuoying Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Department told the Central News Agency today that the woman surnamed Huang, her daughter Ms. Liu, and her son-in-law traveled south from central Taiwan to Kaohsiung. While the three were walking on Junxiao Road in Zuoying, they were struck by a car driven by Mr. Huang. The woman surnamed Huang and Mr. Zhang died after being sent to the hospital, while Ms. Liu is still undergoing emergency treatment.
The Zuoying Precinct stated that Mr. Huang was driving a private car around 6 PM yesterday evening. He allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to fatigued driving, first striking the three pedestrians by the roadside, then hitting a motorcycle traveling in the same direction, causing the motorcycle rider Mr. Huang and passenger Mr. Yang to fall and be injured. Additionally, two parked private cars and one motorcycle by the roadside were also affected, with a total of 5 people sent to the hospital.
The motorcycle rider and passenger were treated at the hospital and are not in serious condition. When the police arrived at the scene, the driver Mr. Huang tested 0 for alcohol. The police completed surveying and evidence collection according to regulations, and the detailed cause of the traffic accident has been sent to the Traffic Police Brigade for analysis and judgment.
