New Taipei Shenkeng, Bali Residential Fires Burn 3 Houses; Firefighters Extinguish Without Casualties

(Central News Agency reporter Huang Xusheng, New Taipei, 1st) Residential fires were reported in Shenkeng District and Bali District of New Taipei City around 7 PM tonight. The fire in the brick house in Shenkeng was quickly extinguished. In Bali District, two corrugated iron houses were fully engulfed in flames. Both fires were controlled and extinguished by the fire department, and the specific causes are under further investigation.

According to the municipal fire department, at about 7:10 PM, smoke was reported on the first floor of a brick house on Shenkeng Street in Shenkeng District. Twenty-five vehicles and 66 firefighters were dispatched for rescue, and the fire was extinguished at 7:35 PM. Miscellaneous items in the house were burned, the cause of the fire is under investigation, and no one was injured.

In addition, the fire department stated that near 7 PM, smoke was reported in a two-story corrugated iron residential building at Lane 202, Museum Road, Bali District. Fifty vehicles and 97 people were dispatched for rescue.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the first and second floors fully engulfed, with the fire spreading to a neighboring house. No one was trapped. Firefighters made full efforts to extinguish the fire, which was controlled and put out around 8:11 PM. A total of two two-story corrugated iron residences were burned, with an estimated burned area of about 270 square meters. The specific cause of the fire will be investigated by the forensics center.
