(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-lin, Taipei, 29th) The director surnamed Lin and manager surnamed Zhu of a certain international travel agency are suspected of soliciting fundraising projects through Facebook groups and guaranteeing profits, illegally raising millions of New Taiwan Dollars. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office searched and summoned the two for questioning yesterday. After questioning, the two were ordered to be released on bail of NT$300,000 and NT$200,000 respectively, with both restricted from exiting the country or going to sea.
The investigation revealed that Lin and Zhu are suspected of launching a 3-year fundraising plan through Facebook groups starting in August 2025 (Ming-Kuo Year 114), recruiting people to invest in their travel company. One investment unit cost NT$200,000, promising a profit of 3% in the first year, 4% in the second year, and 5% in the third year, totaling 12% interest over three years, but the principal could only be recovered upon maturity.
The investigators found that Lin and Zhu also allegedly provided fundraising prospectuses and fundraising plan participation agreements for investors to sign, illegally raising millions of New Taiwan Dollars in less than a year.
On the 28th, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office directed the Northern District Mobile Investigation Station of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau to execute search warrants issued by the court, searching Lin's and Zhu's residences, and a total of four locations including a certain international travel agency company. They also summoned the two defendants, Lin and Zhu, for explanation. The case is being investigated on suspicion of violating the Banking Act and other offenses. (Editor: Li Hsi-chang) 1150429
