(CNA reporter Wang Yang-yu, Taipei, 29th) As the income tax settlement filing period is about to begin, KMT Legislator Lai Shyh-bao questioned today whether other listed companies have similar problems, reporting that some shareholders received dividend withholding notices from Evergreen Marine twice. Finance Minister Chuang Tsui-yun said that the correction would be made tonight after work, and there are no issues with other listed companies.
During a query at the Legislative Yuan's Finance Committee this morning, Lai Shyh-bao mentioned that Chuang Tsui-yun would travel to Uzbekistan to attend the Asian Development Bank (ADB) annual meeting, but the name used would be 'Taipei, China.'
Chuang Tsui-yun stated that she would definitely express strong and continuous protests, saying, 'Our name cannot be changed without authorization; we are a founding member state.' She emphasized that the country joined using its official name, so she will certainly strive to use the official national name, ROC (TAIWAN).
Lai Shyh-bao then asked about media reports that shareholders received Evergreen Marine dividend withholding notices twice, totaling about 300,000 cases, and whether other companies have this issue.
Chuang Tsui-yun said there are no issues with other listed companies. The correction will be made after work tonight because Evergreen submitted the data twice. (Editor: Lin Chia-hsien) 1150429
