The New Taipei City Government today completed the preliminary inspection of the Sanying Metro Line. A committee of 16 experts and scholars conducted the review and provided recommendations for improvement. After the New Taipei City Metro Bureau and the New Taipei Metro Corporation make the necessary adjustments, the project is expected to be reported to the Ministry of Transportation for final inspection in early May.

Zhong Mingshi, Director of the Transportation Bureau, stated that the preliminary inspection committee was divided into three groups: civil engineering, electromechanical, and operations. Representatives from the Ministry of Transportation were also present to provide guidance.

The New Taipei Metro Corporation reported that the inspection involved various methods, including briefings, document reviews, equipment checks, and emergency simulations. A key simulation involved a 'fire and power loss' scenario between LB08 Yingge Station and LB09 Ceramics Old Street Station, requiring passenger evacuation and train recovery, which was completed as requested.

Li Zhengan, Director of the Metro Bureau, noted that the review produced 5 'items to be improved before final inspection,' 17 'general attention items,' and 13 'follow-up suggestions.' The bureau and corporation will address these opinions as quickly as possible. Once improvements are confirmed, the city will seek final inspection in early May, striving for an opening in the middle of this year while ensuring operational safety.
