Disbursements of the 'Frequent User Cashback' for Taiwan's TPASS 2.0 regional transit pass system have been suspended for three consecutive months, from January to March, due to delays in the review of the national budget by the Legislative Yuan.
According to reports, the number of affected commuters has reached approximately 90,000, with the cumulative unpaid amount totaling about 27 million Taiwan dollars. The transport ministry stated that the funds are currently locked pending legislative approval of the budget proposal.
Commuters have expressed frustration over the delay, noting that the cashback was a significant incentive for using the system. The government urges the legislature to expedite the budget process to normalize public services.
