(Nangan Township, Lienchiang County, April 25, Central News Agency reporter Pan Hsin-tung) The 114th academic year Lienchiang County Inter-school Singing Contest was held today in Nangan Township. Zhongzheng Junior High and Elementary School, the organizing school, designed a special ranking announcement method using a three-digit 'lucky code' based on the stroke count of names. Some children still looked incredulous when receiving their awards, testing the students' reactions.

The annual Lienchiang County Inter-school Singing Contest was held today at Zhongzheng Junior High and Elementary School. Representatives from various schools across the county showcased their singing talents with self-chosen songs on stage. The cheering squads for the contestants filled the venue to capacity. Zhongzheng Junior High and Elementary School, the organizing unit, noted that to allow more people to participate, this year's Matsu language competition was changed to video submission. The on-site competition was divided into junior high school group, and elementary school lower, middle, and upper grades groups.

After a full day of competitions, it was time to announce the rankings for each group. The host suddenly announced that names would not be revealed directly, but instead, a three-digit 'lucky code' composed of the stroke count of the three characters in their names would be read out. This 'drawing' format sparked lively discussion among cheering squads and parents, who either calculated or inquired about their children's lucky codes.

When the 'lucky codes' for the elementary school lower grades group were announced, some students did not realize they had won due to slow reactions; when teachers and parents led them to the stage, they still looked incredulous. There were also students whose 'lucky codes' coincidentally matched the winners, but upon standing up, they found that they were not the prize winners, and their faces showed undeniable disappointment.

The competition results were: First place in the junior high school group was Cao Chieh-hsuan from Jieshou Junior High and Elementary School; first place in the elementary school lower grades group was Sun Pei-chen from Zhongzheng Junior High and Elementary School; first place in the middle grades group was Huang Chen-kun from Jingheng Junior High and Elementary School; and first place in the upper grades group was Chen Pin-hsin from Zhongzheng Junior High and Elementary School.

Wang Li-min, Director of the Lienchiang County Government Education Department, told a Central News Agency reporter that the inter-school singing contest provides a stage for students in the county to showcase their singing skills and train their courage, giving children an opportunity to prove their abilities. He hopes that students can build confidence through the competition and aim for various singing competitions both domestically and internationally, daring to challenge themselves.
