TAIPEI (CNA reporter Liu Chien-pang) – A roadside tree on Section 1, Keelung Road, Taipei City, was torn down this morning. Preliminary police investigation suggests that a car passing through this section of the road may have accidentally hooked a branch, tearing down the tree. The fallen tree then directly hit a moving bus and a multi-purpose taxi. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Taipei City police and fire department received a report around 9 AM about an accident near Section 1, Keelung Road. Upon arrival, they found a roadside tree broken in half, which had hit a bus and a multi-purpose taxi. Fortunately, no one was injured. The incident caused traffic congestion, but traffic has now returned to normal.

Police preliminary investigation indicates that a car passing through the scene hooked a branch, causing the tree to be torn down. The fallen tree then directly hit two moving vehicles, causing damage to the vehicles. Preliminary understanding suggests that the肇事 vehicle was a truck, and hit-and-run cannot be ruled out.
