May Electronic Futures Rise While Financial Futures Dip in Taiwan Market

Taipei, April 24 (CNA) – The Taipei stock market rose 1,218.25 points today, closing at 38,932.4 points. May electronic futures settled at 2,525.5 points, up 112.05 points, with a positive spread of 23.74 points. Meanwhile, May financial futures closed at 2,475.2 points, down 2 points, with a positive spread of 5.77 points.

Electronic futures for May finished at 2,525.5 points, gaining 112.05 points with a trading volume of 443 contracts. The electronic spot market ended at 2,501.76 points, up 98.48 points, resulting in a positive basis of 23.74 points compared to the futures price.

In contrast, financial futures for May finished at 2,475.2 points, losing 2 points with 362 contracts traded. The financial spot market settled at 2,469.43 points, a marginal decline of 0.02 points, maintaining a positive basis of 5.77 points. The official closing prices are subject to the announcement by the Taiwan Futures Exchange.
