The AFA issued a press release stating that to reduce fraud risks, the agricultural and fisheries credit departments have cooperated with units such as the National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior to fully deter scam cases. All counter staff at the credit departments are required to immediately notify local police officers to assist upon discovering suspected scam situations, working together to prevent financial crimes.
The AFA stated that according to National Police Agency statistics, 119 farmers' and fishermen's association credit departments successfully intercepted 244 scam cases through reporting in 2025, with an intercepted amount of NT$159.46 million. The AFA noted that many of the successfully intercepted cases in 2025 involved fake investment scams. Most were cases where the public mistakenly believed fraudulent pitches such as guaranteed profits or earning more by investing more. Following the instructions of scam syndicates, they attempted to withdraw large amounts of cash over the counter. The credit department tellers proactively showed concern, detected the suspicious activity, patiently analyzed and explained the situation, and immediately notified the police to arrive and assist, successfully preventing the victims from handing over their property.
