New Taipei City Councilor Hong Chia-chun stated today that Taiwanese athlete Hsu Hao-min won 2 gold and 2 silver medals at the 2nd Thailand Kickboxing World Cup. Despite limited funding, New Taipei athletes continued to shine on the international stage, a commendable performance. The 2nd Thailand Kickboxing World Cup took place in Bangkok from the 7th to the 12th. According to a press release, facing competition from over 1,000 athletes from more than 30 countries, the Taiwan team won 12 golds, 8 silvers, and 3 bronzes, totaling 23 medals and achieving a team world ranking of fourth. Among them, adult category athlete Hsu Hao-min performed exceptionally well, becoming a highlight of the event. On Facebook, he thanked the people of Tucheng and supporting companies, especially Councilor Peng Yi-shu for a lucky red envelope and Councilor Hong Chia-chun for her constant concern regarding participation funds. Hong, a former taekwondo gold medalist herself, expressed her understanding of the pressure athletes face and praised Hsu for his steady performance on the world stage.
