(CNA Reporter Huang Li-yun, Taipei, 22nd) A knife attack occurred in the Wanhua District of Taipei City last night. Police and firefighters responded to the scene and found that siblings surnamed Li had owed rent, and when the landlord, surnamed Chen, and a real estate agent, surnamed Lin, arrived to collect and negotiate, they were attacked by the tenants' friend, a man surnamed Tsai, wielding a knife. The case has been transferred to prosecutors.

The Xiyuan Road Police Station of the Wanhua Precinct, Taipei City Police Department, received a 110 emergency call at around 11 PM last night, reporting a knife assault dispute at a residence near Xiyuan Road in their jurisdiction, and immediately dispatched officers to the scene.

Upon arrival, police found two men with multiple puncture wounds to their abdomens and hands. Both were conscious and were immediately assisted in getting to the hospital for medical treatment.

Investigations revealed that the injured landlord, Chen, and real estate agent, Lin, went to the scene last night to collect two months of unpaid rent, totaling NT$60,000, from the tenants, siblings surnamed Li. The negotiation failed, and unexpectedly, the siblings' friend Tsai, who was watching from the sidelines, suddenly attacked with a folding knife, causing multiple stab wounds to Chen and Lin.

Police arrested three suspects, including Tsai, at the scene. Subsequently, they seized one folding knife used in the crime, heroin syringes, amphetamine smoking devices, and marijuana grinders inside the apartment.

After questioning, the three suspects were transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of physical assault and offenses under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. (Editor: Huang Ming-hsi)
