The Taichung International Airport tourism service center currently operates until 6:00 PM daily. DPP City Councilor Yang Tien-chung suggested extending these hours to accommodate passengers arriving on late-night flights. The city government stated they would coordinate with the central government regarding service counters and timing.

During a transport committee inquiry, Yang noted that Taichung's international routes have expanded to 26, with flight volumes growing over 20% compared to pre-pandemic levels. However, the center's 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM hours leave night travelers without on-site assistance. He emphasized that the first impression of international visitors depends on airport service quality and urged hours to be extended until the arrival of the last flight.

Yang's analysis revealed that 11 out of 29 daily arriving flights (37.9%) land after 6:00 PM, including those from Starlux, HK Express, Cathay Pacific, Air Macau, EVA Air, and Tigerair. Vice Mayor Huang Kuo-jung agreed that providing on-site human services for arriving night flights is ideal and confirmed the city would work with central authorities on a better arrangement.
