(CNA, Taipei, 21st) Demand for artificial intelligence (AI) is red-hot. The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced today that export orders for March totaled $91.12 billion, setting a record high for a single month in history, with a year-on-year increase of 65.9%, marking the 14th consecutive month of growth. Cumulative export orders for the first three months of this year reached $231.91 billion, a record high for the same period, up 50% year-on-year.
Observing by product category, the emerging technology application opportunities driven by the AI wave continued to be active, boosting orders for information and communication products and electronic products. In March, orders for these categories increased by 120.9% and 73.7% year-on-year, respectively. Optical equipment saw a 4.2% year-on-year increase in March orders due to the continued growth in orders for optical inspection and measurement equipment. (Editor: Pan Yi-jing) 1150421
