The 2026 Taipei International Computer Show (COMPUTEX) will debut on June 2. Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC), under the Formosa Plastics Group, will participate for the first time. According to the official website, FCFC will exhibit eco-friendly plastics for power supply shells and AI laptop shells, reflecting its move toward high-value applications. FCFC initially plans to 'test the waters' at COMPUTEX to strengthen contacts with the tech industry and secure potential business opportunities. It will showcase 12 types of plastics including PC/ABS composites, modified PC, and lightweight PEEK for applications in robots, drones, and server casings. FCFC recorded a net loss of NT$5.797 billion in 2025, its first since listing. The company has launched an accelerated transformation, with tech integration being a key pillar. In September 2025, FCFC invested NT$61.25 million to acquire a 9.0379% stake in Lumina Tech, becoming one of its top three shareholders. FCFC aims to combine Lumina Tech's R&D with its production management to develop specialty chemicals like PI (polyimide) for mobile heat dissipation and flexible circuit films. COMPUTEX 2026 expects 1,500 exhibitors and 6,000 booths, a record high. FCFC will be located in the AI & Robotics section at Hall 1.
