Xiao Xu-cen Accused of Violating Financial Discipline; Ma Ying-jeou: Evidence Provided to Investigation Team

Following personnel changes at the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation, former staff members Xiao Xu-cen and Wang Guang-ci resigned, sparking discussion. Ma Ying-jeou had previously stated their resignations were due to 'financial discipline issues.' The foundation formed a three-person investigation team, including directors Hsueh Hsiang-chuan, Yin Chi-ming, and Li De-wei, to probe the related matters. Ma Ying-jeou issued a statement today, indicating that regarding the case of Xiao Xu-cen and Wang Guang-ci suspected of violating financial discipline, in addition to disclosing relevant evidence and witness information at the board meeting on March 27th, he twice provided related evidence to all directors, including the three-person investigation team, via mobile text messages and LINE on April 8th and 14th. Furthermore, on April 17th, he sent the aforementioned evidence and witness information in written form via registered mail to all directors. As the three-person team has not yet begun investigating the authenticity of the aforementioned evidence, he hereby urges the team to complete the investigation report on the evidence promptly. Ma Ying-jeou also requested that Xiao Xu-cen and Wang Guang-ci fully explain themselves or present counter-evidence through the investigation team's process, and urged them not to continue spreading remarks through the media or specific individuals that could tarnish the foundation's reputation, thereby influencing the accuracy of the investigation results. Ma Ying-jeou emphasized that he and the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation will handle this matter with the spirit of not wrongly accusing or letting anyone go. If the evidence of financial discipline violations is confirmed to be true, legal remedies will be sought through judicial channels.
