Taitung County Library's 'Exploration Museum' to Begin Trial Operations on the 16th, Featuring 8 Major Exhibition Zones

The hardware and software equipment for the brand-new Taitung County Library has been completed. Among them, the 'Taitung Exploration Museum,' located on the first floor and covering 210 ping, will begin trial operations tomorrow. Its content focuses on the people and things of life in Taitung, with 8 major exhibition zones planned to foster a closer understanding of this land.

Taitung County Magistrate Rao Qingling inspected the completed new Taitung County Library today and specially visited the 'Taitung Exploration Museum,' a major surprise hidden within the main library. She stated that the Taitung Exploration Museum uses multimedia interactive and immersive space displays, planning 8 major exhibition zones, and will begin trial operations from the 16th. Everyone is welcome to come and learn about Taitung's past, present, and future.

Rao Qingling told the media that the Taitung Exploration Museum is officially opening. It is a micro-museum built for the people of Taitung and those who love Taitung. Locals can find resonance and reminisce about the past, while newcomers can gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Taitung in a short time. It is an exhibition space that combines educational significance with cultural warmth, conveying a local identity of 'My Taitung, My Pride.'

She mentioned that early in her term, she proposed the Taitung Exploration Museum as one of the concrete measures for the 'Tourism Pilot' policy. In 110 (2021), the County Government also held an exhibition planning competition, but it was postponed due to the inability to find a suitable location. As the construction of the Taitung Main Library began and a suitable exhibition space on the first floor was confirmed, the County Government immediately invited experts and scholars for multiple discussions, gradually establishing the overall exhibition direction.

The Taitung County Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the Taitung Exploration Museum is based on knowledge, combining static and dynamic content to create an interactive space rich in information and full of fun. The content focuses on 'the people and things of life in Taitung,' planning 8 major exhibition zones: 'Exploring Taitung, Time and Space, Literature, Music, Art, Rituals and Festivals, Religion, and Sports.' Starting from Taitung's memories and culture, through emotionally connected narratives and immersive techniques, it allows visitors to understand this land through close contact.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the trial operation hours for the Taitung Exploration Museum are from Thursday to Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
