Markets Optimistic About Middle East Developments; European Stocks Mostly Close Higher

(CNA London, 16th, Comprehensive Foreign Dispatch) Markets expect that the Middle East ceasefire will soon allow oil and natural gas transport ships to resume passage through the Strait of Hormuz, easing inflation pressures that have disrupted the global economy. Global stock markets mostly rose today, and European stocks closed mostly higher.

London's FTSE 100 index rose 30.41 points, or 0.29%, to close at 10,589.99 points.

Frankfurt's DAX index advanced 87.77 points, or 0.36%, closing at 24,154.47 points.
