CCP's Cross-Strait Measures: Kinmen County Government Reflects Demands, Hopes Central Government Will Carefully Evaluate

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council today announced 10 cross-strait policy measures, including those concerning Kinmen and Matsu, such as water, electricity, gas, and bridge connections, as well as promoting the full normalization of direct cross-strait air passenger flights, and supporting Kinmen's shared use of Xiamen New Airport.

Chen Hsiang-lin, Deputy Magistrate of Kinmen County Government, told Central News Agency reporters that regarding the four items of water, electricity, gas, and bridge connections for Kinmen, successive magistrates have conducted relevant feasibility assessments and policy research. Cross-strait water supply was completed in 2018 (Republic of China year 107), and other parts will be viewed with cautious optimism in accordance with central government policies.

Regarding cross-strait transportation, Li Wen-liang, Deputy Magistrate of Kinmen County Government, stated that due to frequent dense fog in Kinmen affecting flight conditions, people's travel, schooling, and work are all impacted. As the aviation sector is under the jurisdiction of central government ministries, local demands will still be reflected, hoping that the central government can fully consider and carefully evaluate them.
