Xinhua News Agency reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 14 proposed a four-point plan for maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. This includes promoting a sustainable security architecture for the Middle East and Gulf region, respecting the sovereignty of Middle East and Gulf states, adhering to international rule of law, and creating a favorable environment for the development of these nations. Xi met with Sheikh Khaled in Beijing, where they exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East and Gulf region. Xi emphasized China's principle of promoting peace talks and reiterated its constructive role. The four points are: adhering to peaceful coexistence, respecting national sovereignty, upholding international rule of law, and integrating development and security. Xi also stated that the UAE is a comprehensive strategic partner of China, and China highly values developing bilateral relations, aiming to deepen cooperation in energy, investment, trade, and technology.
