(Central News Agency Reporter Hao Xue-ching, Taichung, April 17) Taichung's first round of consumer vouchers this year will be available for redemption from April 24th to 26th, with a usage deadline of April 30th. The city government announced today that citizens can exchange NT$100 in cash for NT$200 worth of consumer vouchers. An estimated 350,000 vouchers will be distributed, with a limit of two redemptions per person per venue per day.

The Economic Development Bureau is distributing vouchers in morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Residents must adhere to the regulations to avoid duplicate redemptions or cross-venue usage. Details can be found on the official website of the Taichung City Government's Economic Development Bureau.

The Bureau held a promotional event at the city hall to explain the distribution method and released a promotional video showcasing the policy's benefits, inviting the public to seize the opportunity to 'amplify their spending power with NT$100.'

Director of the Economic Development Bureau, Chang Feng-yuan, stated that the consumer vouchers have consistently driven increased sales in markets, night markets, and business districts for three consecutive years, injecting new momentum into the local economy.

He added that after the implementation of consumer vouchers in 2023, the redemption rate has reached record highs for three consecutive terms, boosting overall consumption. Traditional market, night market, and business district stores, in particular, have seen significant increases in visitor numbers and revenue, easing the burden on citizens and promoting local industry development.

Chang Feng-yuan mentioned that this year's event has received support from the Taichung City Council, integrating participation from business districts and 'story hall' stores. The promotional video highlights local characteristics, demonstrating the policy's effectiveness in driving economic circulation.

The Economic Development Bureau stated that this year, the 'Gongxue Taizhi Business District' in the South District has been newly added, expanding the scope of use to 107 locations across the city, benefiting more businesses and citizens. (Editor: Li Ming-tsung) 0417115
