Suspected Remains Found in Kyoto Missing Boy Case, School Temporarily Closed

The Nantan City Board of Education cited the psychological impact on students as the reason for the temporary closure. According to police and school information, the boy was dropped off by his father at the school's childcare facility on March 23, 2026, but did not enter class. His absence was noted during roll call, and no surveillance footage has been found. During the search, the boy's yellow school backpack was found on March 29, 2026, about 3 kilometers west of the school. On April 12, 2026, suspected child's shoes were found in another mountain forest within the city. Police are comparing these items to the case and continuing their investigation.
