New Taipei City, April 14 (CNA) – New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih announced today that to create a safer and smarter defense command system, the 110 reporting system and command centers for traffic control, food safety, and disaster response will be fully upgraded and moved into the second administrative center by the end of the year, to safeguard the safety of citizens.
Hou Yu-ih presided over a public security meeting today, where he specifically presented awards to personnel who contributed to preventing fraud cases through bank and convenience store joint defense, as well as those who contributed to public safety joint inspection work. He affirmed the concrete achievements of various units in combating crime, demonstrating the city government's determination to enforce public authority.
Hou Yu-ih also listened to a special report on the "Police, Fire, Traffic Safety, and Food Safety Command Systems" during the meeting and requested various units to provide suggestions for improvement regarding the planned relocation of these command systems to the second administrative center by the end of the year.
Hou Yu-ih told the media that to build a safer and smarter defense command system, command centers including the Police Department's 110 reporting system and war room, the Health Bureau's food safety center, the Fire Department's disaster response center, and the Transportation Department's traffic monitoring center will be fully upgraded and moved into the second administrative center before the end of the year. This will enhance and more closely integrate all security information from these centers to protect the safety of citizens.
When asked by the media about the renaming of the Taiwan Athletics Championships to the New Taipei International Athletics Open, Hou Yu-ih expressed hope that citizens would come to Banqiao Stadium to cheer on domestic and international athletes, encouraging them to set better records.
Police Chief Fang Yang-ning stated that the 110 system will be upgraded at the second administrative center, integrating M-Police and radio positioning, setting up large video walls, introducing AI-assisted dispatch, and establishing a "War Room Center" to comprehensively improve governance efficiency and demonstrate the modernization and precision of police administration.
