Kaohsiung Sustainable Food and Agriculture Festival Kicks Off, Connecting Tourist Factories to Promote Experiential Activities

The Kaohsiung City Government's Economic Development Bureau announced today that to promote urban sustainable development and food and agriculture education, the city government is holding the "2026 Kaohsiung Sustainable Food and Agriculture Festival." Through cross-departmental integration and diverse venue connections, the public is invited to re-understand the connection between land, food, and the environment starting from daily life. The Economic Development Bureau rallied 5 tourist factories to launch a series of educational and entertaining experiential activities from today until the 26th. The bureau stated that the public can visit the factories to learn about the origin of ingredients, processing methods, and dietary culture, making food and agriculture education a hands-on life experience rather than just classroom knowledge. Economic Development Bureau Director Liao Tai-hsiang stated that tourist factories are important venues for promoting food and agriculture education, serving both industrial display and educational experience functions. This event invites Kaohsiung's tourist factories to offer limited activities such as knowledge learning, hands-on experiences, and industry stories, allowing the public to understand Kaohsiung's food chain context from mountains to oceans through different themed experiential activities at various tourist factories. The Economic Development Bureau pointed out that in addition to continuously launching diverse experiential activities, tourist factories also respond to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), extending food and agriculture education from schools to industrial and daily life settings, guiding the public to gradually establish correct dietary concepts and sustainable awareness. Furthermore, through the export of processed agricultural products, urban exchanges, and the promotion of food and agriculture culture, Kaohsiung's land stories and food and agriculture practices are moving towards the international stage. During the "2026 Kaohsiung Sustainable Food and Agriculture Festival," the public can visit various tourist factories to participate in guided tours, purchase souvenirs, and enjoy DIY experiences.
