Japanese Band Billyrrom Recounts Unforgettable Stinky Tofu Noodle Experience Upon Opening in Recording Studio

(CNA Reporter Wang Hsin-yu, Taipei, April 17) Japanese band Billyrrom arrived in Taiwan today and will perform tomorrow night. They revealed that upon returning to their recording studio in Japan, they opened the stinky tofu-flavored instant noodles gifted by the band 'Sunset Rollercoaster' last time they visited Taiwan, experiencing a shocking aroma and taste that caused screams heard even on the second floor.

Billyrrom debuted in 2020, composed of vocalist Mol, guitarist Rin, bassist Taiseiwatabiki, drummer Shunsuke, keyboardist and synth player Leno, and DJ Yuta Hara.

They accepted media interviews today to share their feelings about visiting Taiwan for the fifth time. They ate xiaolongbao and drank bubble tea on site. Yuta Hara laughed, saying he could eat 50 dumplings. Mol said, "Only Taiwanese xiaolongbao can be eaten in such quantity." Mol also wished to try meatballs next time.

Billyrrom participated in the 'Echo Festival' music festival in Taichung this year. Leno said, "This was the time we performed for the largest audience. The fans followed along with the dancing. Taiwanese people are truly 'awesome'!” Since they learn the local language in every city they visit, Mol laughed and said that he learned a local phrase from the audience in Hong Kong, but later found out it was a curse word after checking in Japan.

When asked about their impressions of Taiwan, Billyrrom laughed and said that last time they received stinky tofu-flavored instant noodles from 'Sunset Rollercoaster'. They only opened them when they returned to their recording studio in Japan. "We were shocked. The smell and flavor were astonishing." Mol laughed, "People on the second floor could hear the screams from the first floor." Shunsuke also got soup splashed on his sleeve, "The smell lingered for the whole day."

Billyrrom will hold their Jupiter= concert at Legacy Taipei tomorrow night. They revealed that "the number of performers on stage will increase" and they will announce "major news." Taiseiwatabiki said, "Tomorrow is the last show of this tour. We will bring everything from the tour to the audience and give a performance that everyone can enjoy together."
