Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation confirmed today that a private helicopter that went missing yesterday has crashed in the dense forests of Borneo, Indonesia. All 8 people on board, including 2 crew members and 6 passengers, were killed.
According to Agence France-Presse, the Airbus helicopter belonged to local company Matthew Air Nusantara. It lost contact with air traffic control about five minutes after taking off from West Kalimantan province yesterday morning.
Indonesian civil aviation official Lukman F. Laisa stated via a press release that all 8 individuals on board were male, with one being Malaysian.
