Hsinchu City Xiangshan District Factory Fire: Miaoli, Hsinchu County Water Tankers Cross-Region for Aid

The Hsinchu City Fire Bureau announced via text message that at 7:49 AM, they received a report from the public about a fire at an electronic waste professional recycling and processing plant on Section 6, Xibin Road, Xiangshan District. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the building emitting large amounts of smoke and flames and immediately began extinguishing the fire.

As the burning area expanded, the Fire Bureau stated that at 8:23 AM, the fire was elevated to a third-alarm. In addition to deploying firefighting robots into the scene, they successively requested water tankers from the Zhunan Squadron of the Miaoli County Fire Bureau and the Zhubei and Fengtian Squadrons of the Hsinchu County Fire Bureau to join the rescue efforts.

The Fire Bureau pointed out that the burning area was approximately 1000 square meters. With the cooperation of firefighting forces from the three counties and cities, the fire was brought under control in about 3 hours. Heavy machinery excavators then entered the scene to assist with excavation and residual fire treatment with water lines. After inspecting the scene, no personnel were trapped or injured.
