Actors Darren and Yen Cheng-Lan Share Stories of Fatherly Love, Stirring Memories in New Drama

Darren re-examined fatherly love through his role and thanked his father, who passed away years ago, for his blessings. Yen Cheng-Lan stated that her father passed away unexpectedly, and although she rarely spent time with him, she felt his silent care.

Darren, Yen Cheng-Lan, Chen Chun-ting, and Chang Che-wei attended the press conference for PTS Taigi's 'Taigi You Ying' series TV movie '阿爸請你嘛嘛吼' today. Darren spoke about his father, who passed away many years ago, saying that his father never missed any of his activities since childhood and had such a good temper that he never saw him angry. This experience makes him, now with his own family, want to rush home to accompany his children after work. 'I hope my children's growth process will always have their father's companionship.'

During the performance, Darren felt a deep connection: 'I became more clearly aware that my values have actually always been shaped by my father.' Yen Cheng-Lan plays a daughter full of misunderstandings towards her father in the drama, admitting that the role is almost a projection of her own life experience. It wasn't until she sorted through her father's belongings that she slowly pieced together those overlooked emotions. 'I felt that he had actually been silently caring for us from afar, and I remembered him once saying: 'Dad really wants to come home.''

Yen Cheng-Lan said that this role allowed her to confront her unfinished emotions with her father. 'Dad, I'm sorry, I really love you, and I hope Dad can see this work and be proud of us.'
