(CNA Reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, New Taipei, 16th) The New Taipei City Government Fire Department stated that it received a report at 1:34 PM that a gravel truck had overturned for unknown reasons on Bade Road in Yingge District, causing a traffic accident involving a total of 8 vehicles. A mass casualty mechanism has been initiated, and 7 people have been rescued and sent to the hospital. The relevant causes of the accident and follow-up will be investigated and handled by the police.
The Fire Department stated via text message that an accident occurred at Lane 2, Bade Road, Yingge District, according to the report. At the scene, a gravel truck overturned for unknown reasons, resulting in a total of 8 vehicles being involved in the accident, including 1 large truck, 1 light truck, 1 taxi, and 5 passenger cars.
The Fire Department said that emergency personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, and a mass casualty mechanism along with a severe trauma entrapment mechanism was activated. There were a total of 7 injured people (5 males and 2 females) at the scene, all of whom were conscious.
The Fire Department said that 3 of them were sent to Far Eastern Memorial Hospital in Banqiao, 2 were sent to New Taipei City Tucheng Hospital, and 2 were sent to En Chu Kong Hospital in Sanxia. (Editor: Lin Shu-hui) 1150416
