Central News Agency, New Taipei, April 13 (Reporter Wang Hung-kuo) - New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih stated today that the MRT Sanying Line has completed dynamic testing and has been reported to the city's Department of Transportation for preliminary inspection. It will subsequently be reported to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) for a final inspection, with the hope of a smooth opening in June. "This is our goal," he said.

Hou made these remarks today while presiding over the groundbreaking and blessing ceremony for the second entrance/exit joint development project at Sanxia Station on the Sanying Line. The event was attended by ruling and opposition party councilors from the Sanying area, as well as local figures, creating a lively atmosphere.

Hou stated that since he took office, New Taipei's MRT network has expanded to include the Circular Line, Danhai Light Rail, and Ankeng Light Rail. He affirmed that the Sanying Line will be completed on schedule this year, and the Wanda-Zhonghe Line is expected to be completed next year.

He mentioned that there are a total of 7 joint development projects along the Sanying Line, which are expected to attract NT$48.5 billion in investment and bring in a population of 14,000, fostering prosperous development in Sanxia and Yingge.

He noted that 5 of the 7 joint development projects have already been successfully tendered. Today's groundbreaking was for the development project at the second entrance/exit of Sanxia Station. The public welfare space that will be returned to the city from this project will be used for daycare, long-term care, and a mental health center.
