Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon kill 13 security forces, war casualties expand

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on the 8th have resulted in 357 deaths and 1223 injuries, an increase from the previously reported 303 deaths. The Israeli military stated that over 180 Hezbollah militants were killed in the airstrikes on the 8th, and also claimed that "death tolls are still being compiled." The airstrike operation on the 8th occurred hours after the United States and Iran announced a ceasefire, but Washington and Tehran still have differing opinions on whether the ceasefire agreement applies to Lebanon. The Hezbollah, supported by Iran, fired rockets at Israel on March 2, drawing Lebanon into the Middle East war, to which Israel responded with large-scale airstrikes and ground invasions in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah leader Qassem called on the Lebanese government not to make further "free concessions" to Israel before negotiations.
